Illusions are cool. Magic is fake and David Blaine is lame.

I hate post hogan wrestling. Back in the day, they didn't take it to such extremes that it was entertainment. When juniors in HS started playing with WWF dolls in HS lunch (complete with plastic 2x2 ring) it just got stupid. The WWF started to infere that it was actually real. I hate wrestling, as well as the new hyped up ultimate fighter (much cooler 3+ years ago)

When I was a kid I used to watch wrestling when it was Edward Carpentier (read with your best Canadian accent) who dazzled us with his acrobatics, Andre the Giant, the Indian (drawing a blank on the name- he always wore a full headress...). That must have been late 60's/early 70's.

"Cheif" Wahoo McDaniel? He was around in that era.

As a kid, I loved the WWF in its hayday in the 80's. Hulk Hogan, Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, Roddy Piper, Big John Studd, Andre, Greg Valentine/Tito Santana, Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorf, etc. The whole MTV/WWF thing, early Wrestlemanias, Mr. T, etc. Classic!

I lost interest after about 1987 or so. In the late 90's I picked it up again for a few years when some of the old timers from the 80's started making their comebacks. I guess I was feeling nostalgic. After a while it just got stupid again and I stopped watching it.

No, that wasn't it. But it did just come to me- Johny War Eagle and Billy Two Rivers was the Indian duo I was thinking about. Mad Dog Vachon was in that era too. Now my head hurts.

This reminds me of that wrestling feud between Andy Kaufmann and I can't remember the wrestler's name. That was entertaining!

my point exactly...when I was younger and did watch it, it was so absurd that even a toddler knew it was fake. In the mid-late 90's they started conning people into thinking it was real

Favorite Moment:

Friends day 1: we have wwf tickets on the floor
friends Day 2: we got to touch ken shamrock....
friends day 3: yo, did you see us on tv
me day 3: yeah, I saw it, what the hell are you so proud of, you basically raped the guy while you felt up his tits.
friends: you dont know anything
me: yeah I do, I know enough that a high school age man shouldnt be feeling up an over the hill body builder.

its abbriviated...but thats pretty much how it goes. I knocked them cause they did more the give him a high five, more then pat him on the back...they out right molested the guy and to this day they see nothing wrong with it. They made total fools of themselves on national TV.

Going back to David Blaine, I decided today that it would have been entertaining watching him trying to hold his breath for 9 minutes and trying to get out of that sphere if the water in were being heated until it boiled. Or maybe cooled in a flash freezer until it froze.

It should be no surprise that one of my favorite movie scenes ever is from Crocodile Dundee when he props the kangaroo carcass up with the rifle and starts shooting at the hunters. I always said I would pay to watch hunting if the animals had guns too.
