Daylight Saving Time changes

I musta been too busy skiing to notice the DST change coming up this year. So.... What can we do to get the resorts to keep the lifts running an extra hour - let's say until 5 instead of the nominal 4pm?????

The United States Congress has approved a change to Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the US. Starting this year, DST will begin three weeks earlier and run a week later. This means spring DST will begin March 11 instead of April 1, and fall DST will end November 4 instead of October 28.

most skiers don't even make it to 4, i doubt resorts would go for keeping operations open an hour longer. though i would love to see it. this certainly opens up more after work turn earning options.

I doubt they'd go till 5, but some might run till 4:30, especially on Saturdays.

I am happy with the way things are. Open later = higher chances of a late day injury with spent legs and conditions. One hour less for snowmakers and groomers. And one (or four) less beers for me at the bar.

This upsets me to no end because the slopes will be frozen longer. They should open later and close later.

gotta disagree with the frozen aspect since we are talking about mid to late march here. this is getting into spring skiing during which a good corn is often had in the morning hours and things can get thick and heavy by noon time. an hour earlier start may actually help with snow preservation and better quality conditions for an extra hour.

I don't know where you are skiing, but more often than not, it's still frozen in the AM. Even Superstar in May can still be frozen at 10 or 11am.
