I musta been too busy skiing to notice the DST change coming up this year. So.... What can we do to get the resorts to keep the lifts running an extra hour - let's say until 5 instead of the nominal 4pm?????

The United States Congress has approved a change to Daylight Saving Time (DST) in the US. Starting this year, DST will begin three weeks earlier and run a week later. This means spring DST will begin March 11 instead of April 1, and fall DST will end November 4 instead of October 28.
