I'll post pictures later, but what a way to end a week in Utah!! 14" of light Utah fluff, Deer Valley where the trees, and many a bump run and bowl get frowned upon by the "average" Deer Valley Customer. Long untracked lines were still to be had, without having to look too hard, even within sight of the main, lower base lodge at 3:15PM :)

I'll even see if later tonight I can upload the great action sequence that my wife happened to catch of me stuffing my right ski tip into a powder bump and going face/chest 1st into the deep fluff of the trough/next bump! Just pure luck that she was shooting with the camera in auto mode at that very moment!

You've probably heard me tell my son this all the time . . . "you're not skiing hard enough if you don't fall." But now I'm going to add to that "but if you do, make sure it's not under the lift or captured on camera."

And thanks again for leaving the Northeast and bringing us great weather. Right now I'm looking at a PistenBully 350 grooming Grommet, under blue skies, with no wind and it's 26.8 degrees. The SnowBar survived the week and the umbrella is going up and the beach chairs are out.

All that being said, I'd still rather be at Deer Valley.

Have a safe trip home. I'll leave some Swag in your condo locker this weekend for the next time you're up.

Some nice trees there at DV. Trekchick and I were finding some good skiing in them 2 days after the last snow.

The place at DV where you took that pic of Trekchick that was posted, Ontario Bowl, is one of my favorite areas of DV Wa-loaf. Just a fun wide open bumper until the bottom on the right side, to a practically non-stop tree run on the left! :)

DV is such a great place IMHO, and for as many accolades and superlatives that it gets/is used to describe it, for the expert skier, it's such an underrated mountain with lots of awesome trees on every peak and some great bowl/chute skiing areas. Not to mention the way that they cut the groomers, especially off Bald Mountain, it's really some great, steep, continuous verts falline skiing too. I've now got over 20 days at Deer Valley over the last decade or so, and I find myself liking DV more and more each time I go there! And that doesn't even get into the PHENOMENAL kids programs they have there or the great food they offer too (shortly after my crash sequence I was eating lunch in the Empire lodge and had fresh made fish taco's with a fresh vinegar based coleslaw and guacamole, a spinach salad and out of this world German Chocolate Cake all for essentially the same price as a burger/fries and a cookie at most major resorts!)

Awesome photo sequence. I wouldn't mind taking a spill in some of that today.

Root, the funny/ironic thing about that sequence, is it was probably the 1st time in 2 years that I gave the camera to my wife and had her ski down 1st to take some pictures of me! And we usually take 90% of our runs every year together with me holding the camera 99.99% of the time! Just pure coincidence that she had the camera and was taking pics at that moment!

DV gets the "best grooming" rap and no one thinks there is anything more there....ohhhhhh so wrong...while the masses flock to Atla/Snobird, there are fresh line for days if not weeks after a storm...DV has some sick terrain as i was shown by a few friendly locals when i was out there a few years back...amazing what the promise of a few free rounds will do....

looking to get back out here next year....1st time at DV i was in HS and was easter...warm temps, girls in bikinis, grill going at mid station lodge, palm trees in the snow...patrol walking around handing out sunscreen....love DV

We hit the Ontario Bowl, the trees above Empire Canyon, and the the stuff to the skiers left of Lady Morgan. I'm sure there's more, but I only had a day. I don't know if I'd take it over Alta/Snowbird, but it's definitely a good place to hit after those places are skied out.

I just found this TR! I'm awaiting verification of identity. Jeff usually sports a Steelers coat. I can't compute him skiing in anything else....
