easy listening (or top 40 dance)music played at many ski areas is offensive to me. i don't impose my music on others why should the mt impose it on me.

also in gss defense i hear a lot of hippy music blasting in parking lots (personally ok with it here).

I have my 10 year reunion coming up in November..I hope they play alot of late 90s rap...I graduated the same year Notorious BIG was murdered..:???:

If there's a little kid booting up..I'll play rap music with less explicit lyrics. It's pretty common for people to play music from their cars while booting up. Up at Stowe it's mostly Allman Brothers hippy shit..I happen to like Rap the best.

Apparently you don't get it. I don't care for "explicit lyrics" either - why should I have to be exposed to such tripe? I don't impose my apparently "hippy shit" on you, why should I have to listen to repetative, moronic, juvenile rhymes "blasting" out of the car beside me?

And how far away is that little kid if you're "blaring" this crap? Why should anyone else have to listen to such drivel? No doubt you're oblivious to all those withering stares, or probably don't care that your choice of "music" isn't in keeping with what the locals prefer.

I don't find it common to hear music from cars. And that "hippy shit" took some talent in music, singing, composition unlike some jerk who puts moronic rhymes together, and samples what talented people have done.

You make Highway Star look like a class act. Didn't think that was possible.

What did you have for breakfast...a great big bowl of Angry O's and a tall glass of Hater-ade..:razz::razz::razz:

My old car had a weather band radio. On occassion, when stopped next to a thumpa car I'd crank up the robot voice and give everyone a weather update. WOrked best if I closed all the windows except the one facing the offender.

My new/old subie outback rocks the weather band radio too. It kicks ass. That chick has a sexy voice, even if it is computerized.

As for music... the only time I listen while skiing is when I'm lapping the trails solo at Wachusett. Keeps me occupied and give me something to listen to aside from the 3 other 15 year olds arguing on the lift chair next to me. Generally speaking, I know the trails so well at Wachusett and where the bad spots are, reducing my hearing I believe does not put me in a significant amount of danger. I ski faster than the vast majority of people there anyway and 99% of the traffic comes from in front of me where I can see it. I'm extra careful about merging from a stop or at a trail crossing.

I don't use earphones even when I'm by myself at bigger mountains. My sentiments are similar to others, even with a helmet on and wind noise, I still use my sense of hearing enough to rely on it a fair amount, especially in unfamiliar terrain.

Usually use an iPod shuffle, which I clip to the outside of my jacket; easy to adjust volume, pause, etc. I got an iPhone, so maybe I'll try to use that and see if I can tolerate the cell phone thing......

without the influence of rap a lot of good music wouldn't exist. i agree about it with a lot rap, but i really like lots of stuff with heavy rap influence (beastie boys, sublime ect....).

Aerosmith "Walk This Way" and the Run DMC + Aerosmith cover are the only rap on my iPod.

My old car had the weather band on it. i thought it was someone of middle eastern decent that was holed up in his house making forecasts 24/7. I would listen to it different times for golf and was amazed not matter what time I tuned in he was on.

I supose I could lpad up the MP3 player with Redneck Jazz and crank it up while talking on my cell ohone, but it seems to be too much of a distraction from skiing.

Something about white boys listening to rap, always reminds me of the beginning of the movie "Office Space".

And D: Don't be dissin' '80's hair. You know that's my trademark.

I hate when people think Rap music is just for Black People..that's racist..most people that listen to Rap are Suburban White Boys..
