Last night in my hockey game I got checked from behind in cheap-shot fashion by someone 125 lbs heavier than me with a full head of steam. Doc says I broke my wrist in two spots. I just feel lucky my wrist took the brunt of it instead of my neck. Luckily my broken elbow and now my broken wrist happened just before and just as the season is ending respectively. Its been a good season!

WOW, that's too bad. Sorry to hear that. We ended yesterday, as well, although for that reason. We've got some older skis that don't do so well in the spring conditions, so after yesterdays excursion to Attitash, decided to call it. Now we're in the market for some new skis, fatter.

well, if you want to add to the list of A-Zers on the shelf.......

I'm recovering from a torn left quadriceps tendon. I had the surgery 2 weeks ago. I have 2 more weeks immobile in a brace before I can begin PT. Unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on your point of view - it did not happen on the slopes, but on my icy front steps on my way to work. I have quite the road to recovery ahead of me.....

TwinTips21, best of luck on a speedy recovery. I hope you're ambidextrous....... :)

Sorry to hear about your wrist...at least it happened at the end of the ski season and will heal before the summer sports season kicks in.

I just had my right ACL replaced with a third of my Patellar Tendon last Tuesday. Got about a 12 month recovery ahead. This shelf is getting dusty.....

Good luck, TwinTips!

I tore my right ACL 4 years ago (surgery was 4 years ago tomorrow), and as long as you keep up with the rehab, 8-9 months is realistic. I'm also assuming you're in relatively decent shape and have some time to dedicate to rehab. I was single and living near a gym when I tore mine, so I was back VERY quickly from it.

My biggest piece of advice is listen to your orthopedic and physical therapist. ACL tears are so common these days. They have a solid idea of where you should be at any given time during rehab, based on your age and in-shape-ness (if that's a word...). Good luck!
