probably been a similar thread to this, but don't feel like digging it up. Also some newer members who may not have chimed in on this in the past.

How long is your drive to your 'home' mountain. If you're 'homeless' what's the average drive to day trip areas for you.

I'll start:

Ragged Mountain will be home this year and will take me 1.5 hours door to door.

The past few years I haven't had a home hill and averaged about 2 hours one way each time I went skiing for the day.

Blue mountain is my home mountain..it's 17-18 miles from both my apartment and my work. There are a bunch of traffic lights on my drive so the best I can do is 23-24 minutes early on a weekend AM when there's nobody on the road. 30 minutes is a more typical drive and afterwork it can be 35-45 minutes with more traffic. Blue mountain has 1082 vertical feet..900 or so of which is legit and the rest is a runout..there is a high speed quad and high speed 6-pack which allow me up to 8 runs per hour. I feel like Blue mountain is a treadmill and when I go on steezy ski trips that is a marathon. Plus since I'm at Blue most days during our short PA ski season, I've met alot of ski buddies and rarely ski alone for more than a few runs before I join up with the Blue Crue...that's my boy Blue..mad Bob Dylan cause I'm Tangled up in Blue...I'm lost without Blue..and there's alot to Like about Blue..lol

When I owned a condo in the MRV & Sugarbush was my home mountain, my drive time was 3 hours, maybe 3:15 depending on weather. It was 200 miles door to door.

My closest "home mountain" is now either Berkshire East or Sundown, my drive time is about 1 hour. I'm about equidistant to both mountains.

When I do day trips to Vermont, my drive time is anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours depending on where I go.
