This is the time of year when I spend a lot of time scanning the various weather boards and forums,

This is an alert chart from wxrisk.com

http://wxrisk.com/wxalert.html

Most of the mets seem to be agreeing on a very cold start to November

Looking real good for Belleayre's Nov. 10th opening day, should have a solid snowmaking base by then.

I'd love to see a nov. 10th opening for whiteface...that would be sweet...If belleayre can open then - whiteface should be able to open

It won't be, WF is opening the 24th, and Gore the 23rd.

Probably a toss up between Sugarbush and Stowe but both places don't plan on opening until a week before Thanksgiving. Stowe opens with a top to bottom run off the quad and sometimes a few additional trails..Sugarbush opens this season at South/Lincoln Peak and I'm thinking they'll do the old Downspout/Upper Jester run off the Heavens gate chair..maybe Upper Organgrinder as well..and possibly the run out to the base of the Sugar Bravo if they get enough low elevation snowmaking. Personally I think Okemo provides the best early season conditions and opens terrain faster than everywhere in VT early season with the exception of the old Killington..

My ladyfriend enjoys burlington and we usually head down to killington for early turns. I am thinking staying in burlington and skiing around there. I have a hookup near lake nevea very clost to okemo. how is okemo for early season( any bumps)? I know they have a food can drive weekend of thanksgiving. I am also thinking about going to maine.
