The Killington glades seem to being doing a job on my boards. Got a pair of 170 Bandit X's on Ebay for $39.99 with Marker demo bindings that I can chew up in the Glades. I'll shred them by season's end and come back to Ebay for another pair for next year. EBAY ROCKS!

I bought two pairs of skis last summer on ebay.
Originally I was shopping for my then 13 yr. old sun for his 14th birthday present. Bought a pair for him then saw another pair and kept the first pair for me.
To sum it up. I got a great buy on both pairs. Bought one pair in July the other in August. Shopped through June looking at reviews and web sites to make sure that I got the right ski's for the type of skiing that we do and the level. Watched a few sales go by on ebay to estimate the price. They usually have more than one pair at that time of year to sell, so you can see what they are going for.
Saved over 50% on both pairs vs. the local ski shop. The price for same skis went up about $75 -$100 in October. So if you really want a deal, bid in the summer.
Had a problem with shipping on one pair. But that was ok because I didn't need them right away.
ALWAYS USE A CREDIT CARD because you can contest the payment if there is a problem. That's how I got my problem resolved. Don't use a debit card, check, or money order. They got your money and you have little recourse.
I do have mixed feelings however, we need to support our local ski shops or they won't be around in the future. I did buy him a used pair of boots at the local shop and a hat for Christmas that I could have gotten cheaper elsewear, and I get our skis sharpened and waxed there. But overall, I paid the same for a complete setup that it would cost me for seasonal rentals. The skis will be good for a few years. I may have to buy a new pair of boots as his feet grow, but not a bad deal overall.
The bottom line: Do your research first , then bid.

Yeah I've got plenty of research in already. Since I was well under my $200 budget for new ski purchases, I picked up a pair of Rossi RPM 21 Mid-Fat's fo $140. They're a 2002/2003 models. At 110/74/100 it will float in the powder much better than my Bandit X will. It's modeled after the Bandit XX, which is much more expensive.

So I got a pair of used 170 Bandit X for $39 for tree skiing and a new pair of 184 RPM 21 Mid-Fat's for $140. Came in under budget and will keep my wife happy. Ebay and Chicken Skis Rock.

Nice Rossi Skiergoing, you clearly know how to buy at the right price on Ebay, but not everybody does. In Oct. 2003 I put my 1 ½ year old Rossi XX’s with Axil 140 bindings on Ebay. The bidding got up to about $350 with 3 hours to go, then at the end 2 guys got into a biding war and the final price was $511.00. I only paid $525 for that setup brand new.

Yes those people overpaid about $75-$125, but you made out, and they got a great pair of midfat's. Those 140 bindings are excellent and worth $100-$150 themselves. Everybody is happy on that deal.
