Ergon BA3 2013 Backpack

BK.jpg

The 2013 Ergon BA3 Backpack focuses its efforts on the needs of all-mountain riders, and their competitive twin, enduro racers, by addressing their exclusive needs. This includes secure, stable storage and quick access to not only protective gear, but trail-side essentials like first aid, repair kits, and inflation devices as well.
The BA3 offers 915 cubic inches of storage space that's expandable another 122 cu. in. for carrying bulky items. The BA3's external features include vertical side attachments for elbow and shoulder guards, with knee and shin guard straps underneath the pack. The BA3 also accommodates both standard and full face helmets.
With the ability to carry all this gear, Ergon's Adaptive Carrier System becomes a crucial design element. It cradles the load by connecting the shoulder straps to a hammock-like structure, stabilizing and bringing the center of mass as close as possible to the user. The load, however, does not sit against your back as the BA3 uses an internal aluminum bar between the lower pads. Also, the bar can be adjusted by bending it slightly for a custom horizontal fit.
Additionally, the BA3 has two available strap sizes (Large and Small) and four levels of vertical adjustment allow fine tuning to varying torso lengths. The cushioning pads are specially designed with ventilation in mind by using a large open weave that allows air to flow, and the pads are laid out to create channels. This permits fast drying to prevent irritation and discomfort.
The BA3's shoulder straps are self-correcting, via D rings at the top, to automatically find the ideal angle and ensure a correct fit. The asymmetric, wide hip belt distributes pressure evenly and makes one handed closing possible. There's an easy access pocket on the left side, for a phone or camera.
The BA3 does not come with a bladder, but it has a compartment and routing for one. The compartment has a large opening for ease of use and can hold either the Ergon BH200 or BH300 bladder. The 2013 Ergon BA3 comes in two colors; Blue or Black. The Small pack is intended for riders under five foot seven; the Large is for those taller than that.
