A few years ago ON A BLACK TRAIL I saw a father almost kill off his daughter the same way. She picked up speed not surprisingly as the trail got steep, panicked, froze, and shot by me in the same wide rocket stance. Her dad was yelling the same "Pizza, Pizza!", as if that would cure the extreme stupidity of what he had done. She went by doing over 40 mph, headed for the trees on the edge of the trail. Impact with the many 14 inch rock hard maples in front of her would have been fatal. Luckily she fell when she hit the ungroomed edge before the trees, and her trajectory missed any tree.

Yelling "Just Turn" or "Pizza, make a Pizza!!!" doesn't cut it as instruction. Leave your ego and your selfish desire to ski terrain that won't bore you back in the car. Ski with your novice on real, embarrassing, slow, easy novice terrain. Unless your plan is to permanently scare them away from skiing.

Not a fan of this stupid "Pizza" "French Fry" thing anyways, seems like the Common Core approach to skiing. Why not just teach the dumb kid how to snowplow and yell "Snowplow!" at him?

If I had a 4 year old she'd ski like this girl and embarrass the shit out of whiney boys like that and their stupid "pizza" dads

Yelling Pizza sounds stupid to begin with! Teaching kids to stop properly and to turn are fundamentals that should be achieved before going to any higher terrain. Not a big fan of teaching snowplow and snowplow turns - maybe just to get a point across. Disclaimer, snowplow is a tool in the tool box.
