Gas vs Wood Fireplace

Swear to God- I grew up with that tree. My mother hung red, blue, green and gold balls on it. The tree didn't spin, but we had that color wheel that you plugged in and it spun thru the same four colors. When my parents divorced in 1970 (I lived with my dad), that was the first thing my father threw away.

My Grandma had one...
We got ours off of EBay.. It has the color wheel...

I think it's awesome...

I wonder if Austin has any idea what we are talking about..... I do have to admit it is one of the things about my childhood that sticks in my head....I'm over it pretty much now.

Wood fireplace, all the way. Ours actually does a pretty dang good job of heating the house. We used it all last year, and our winter gas bill was about 1/2 what it was the year before. The ambience is a welcome added bonus,a s well.
