No matter how many times I’ve been to the summit of Whiteface, sometimes I still just stand for a while and take in the view and am in awe of the beauty of it and how high I am above the base below.

What do you still gape at?

Inner gaper? I'm still trying to get rid of my OUTER gaper!

Honestly? Some of the things I see you guys post going thru back wood trees. :p

Maybe I need to pony up the cash and take some more lessons from someone who can tell me what I SHOULD be working on instead of the 'I'll figure it out myself!' approach. :-D

You will never forget that one.

I've been going around that turn on and off for 30+ years and I still get excited when I see it.

I have to be careful if I ever go to Sugarloaf that I don't hit a pole or something while making that turn from not keeping my eyes on the road ...That's incredible. As far as gaping, It's generally just the views from the top and / or the slopes from a distance that normally grab my attention. The views are such an important part of the experience IMO.

my inner gaper comes out:
a. anytime I'm walking around a ski town out west...the smell of the air, the tingling anticipation of bigger and better terrain, softer snow, etc...I try to keep cool on the outside, but on the inside it always brings me back to being a giddy 14yr old in Park City on my first trip out west.
b. on sketchy, exposed ridges on bootpacks...sphincter puckers and I gaper up. Get my skis back on and I'm fine.

Are you a gaper if you gape at gapers??

I'll still gape at the top of steep and/or really bumped and/or really 'slick' trails and sometimes opt out of skiing them after gaping for a moment. I guess I really am a gaper...
