I am color blind, which means I see colors but have trouble identifying them and big trouble with contrasts...pink lenses filter so much light that I can't see differences in the terrain. I am thinking a polarized clear lens is the way to go but a I am wondering is any color blind skiers have any experience with different color lenses helping out. I see moguls, ice, jumps or anything else fine without goggles....thanks

I never gave it much thought, but..

I am color blind, and I HATE colored goggles. I have a pair of the scott classic clear polorized goggles, like 25-30 bucks, and I love them. ANY shade drives me nuts and makes me feel I can't really 'see' the terrain very well. I hadn't made the connection, but that's a damned good point.

And scott has an 'amplifier' lense. Amplify my ass. :-D

I have always skied with the goggles on top of my head, only to be used under the guns or if during a snowstorm, visibility is gone with the pink or yellow lenses as far as bumps, ice, or any thing other than groomed is concerned..after years of skiing this way and being lectured about UV rays ruining unprotected eyes I figured I would put it out there and see if the color blind situation is causing the goggle problem...it probably took 10-15 years to figure it out...sunglasses work, but obviously are not enough in weather
will be picking up polarized clear goggles this week before whiteface trip

thanks
