Okay AZ focus group...time to put your thiking caps on and see if you can come up with a great name for a new all mountain series. Here are the parameters:

skis will be 74mm waists to 84mm, all systems

street price points from around $499 to $899

Performance range from lower intermediate to expert

Unisex collection...ie mens skis

Looking for one name for the whole series and then different models distinguished by their waist width.

Be reasonable...the skis will have to be accepted by the retailers and consumers, no words/names the FCC wouldn't approve. Let's hear what you've got...if the name is chose you'll have bragging rights.

Autobahn series

edited to add:

In my understanding of the Autobahn, each lane of the highways have a certain speed limit. This translates well to a series of skis. What might not translate is the name itself to Europe as I believe they have a different name over there for the Autobahn than what is known here in the states. That said, it's probably commonplace for ski series to have different names on the other side of the pond.

Kind of like Chevy found out when trying to sell Novas in South America

Raptor series. Each ski gets its own bird, somewhat representative of the ski's characteristics. Thin waist and fast would be the Falcon, for example.

not a bad direction...only issue is Head has a raptor boot and salomon has the falcon. there could be some other names avail in that theme though...any oronthologists out there? that's the other problem, lots of names are already trade marked.

The Sucked cause only a sucker would pay that much for a pair of skis..

stop crapping where I eat or I'll find some undertaker website and start posting about how stupid expensive headstones are...after all, its just a freakin rock you dragged outta the ground and then polished up and slapped an obscene mark up on to take advantage of people when they are most voulnerable.

actually, they tend to have the same names...that's how rossi ended up with the Salto series for a little while! And yes,we don't want to make the ski version of the "no go"

ps. only two lanes on the A-4 from munich to austria...slow and better get the f outta the way! insane to be going over 100mph and get passed like you're standing still! Good suggestion on the name...

Could you name them after famous ski runs? Like "Birds of Prey" for a race ski, etc . . .

Might be trademark issues I suppose.

This maybe a little 70's or 80's, but how about a space travel (Yes, Greek mythology) theme like the Apollo?

space is one of the themes being batted around...keep going with it...

could go with Galaxy Series and have different models named after different Galaxy's.

I guess my thought on the Autobahn was that to me it represents the ultimate in driving freedom, go as you please, so it works for an all mountain ski in that they're designed for you to go wherever you like. Perhaps you name the various widths 74mph, 84mph etc and have the top dog be called 'unlimited'. Of course that has already been used by Volkl. Maybe No Limit? Red Line?

If they're an all-mountain series, you could name 'em after mountain ranges

Cascades
Sierras
Appalachians
Himalayas
Wasatch (better than Sasquatch)

..but not Rockies or Alpines ;)

In my mind, northern New England
With widths from 74 to 84, they'll be more used as frontside carvers in the lower widths with the wider ones used as one-ski-quiver types. But, since they will be seen as on-piste oriented skis (as compared to off-piste fat skis in the 90 plus range), perhaps an allusion to skiing's racing heritage would be good. Old school races like the Inferno or the Thunderbolt might be a good starting point then skis would be classified according to width (e.g., Inferno 74, Inferno 80, Inferno 84, etc.).
