Are they going to have one this year? I heard the guy that usually builds the pipe did not come back this year. Any truth. Seems like every one else has one open. The one at Okemo was sweet. Parks there were nice also. Hats off to Okemo.

Doesnt answer your question but if your up in the area u might want to try sunapee. awful pipe no doubt but hey have some nice kickers, rails, and boxes set up. They are a little sticky though.

Anyway I bet killington will find someone to cut there pipe. They will lose to many customers if they dont.

I'm pretty sure he's still there.

They've been blowing snow on it for a while now, look at the Bear Mtn webcam. (During the day) Should be towards the right side of the viewing area. I'd expect it to open fairly soon.

Sunapee's halfpipe is not awful. Its' just a little on the small side...both in length and height. I was at Sunapee Monday (1/14) and, yeah, the pipe was icy but what else would you expect after the warmth and rain of last week then a return to winter temps? An icy halfpipe will be the norm for another two months until we get some good spring warmth.

It sure as heck is not nearly as big as it use to be a few years back when Sunapee claimed to have "the longest halfpipe" in New Engalnd. I feel Sunapee's pipe is a great place to practice tricks and build confidence before taking things to a true superpipe like Okemo's...which happened to be equally icy today.
