I wish I could go... getting out of work when they've been laying people off may not be a great idea... though it is SOOO tempting.

Hey they are open Sat and Sunday as well. Pretty early season 3 days of turns how cool. I'll grab a few runs each day. Probably hike more than I ski, but I will make turns and the pain will be gone.

Halloween is opening day!
For the second year running Sunday River will open for skiing and riding on Halloween, Friday, October 31, with free lift tickets for anyone in costume.
The Locke Mountain Triple will start spinning at 10am with terrain open above the mid-station including Upper Sunday Punch and T2. And, of course you can count on at least one rail set up on T2 for early season jibbing. Lift tickets for anyone not in costume will be $25, and services will be out of Barker Mountain Lodge. We will remain open through the weekend for skiing on Saturday and Sunday, then will be closed for the midweek period.
Don't forget to bring a treat for any snowmakers or park rangers you see out on the hill making it happen. They prefer M&M's, but will eat almost anything.

I probably will be in my prisoner costume again tomorrow. My son ended up taking my costume. I bought pack of M&M's to give out. I can take a hint.

I'm thinking about staying over to do just that. I have a meeting in Campton Nh at 8.30. I could just drive in the morning.

You will be there in spirit Terry.
