Shannon Bahrke was awesome too, as was Heil. Lots of good skiing.

I plan to take my lunch break from grooming tomorrow night at precisely 8:30pm to watch men's finals

clearly the fastest. best turns I saw too. amazing hands and quiet upper body. Pretty much perfect skiing.

Airs while well executed, didn't excite me much. LOVED Michelle Roark's airs

She's a little bundle of energy (she's only 5ft tall!)! I give her a lot of credit for going big; after all those injuries and knee surgeries, it's amazing what that girl can do!

Shannon Bahrke is awesome! Very much enjoyed watching her skiing last night! Loved how supportive she was, especially of her own teammates. There's a girl with a heart!

Yeah, Michelle's airs were great. I was glad she kept skiing and did her second air so nicely, rather than "giving up" after the fall.

But I'm glad the winning run didn't have the most exciting airs. I'm so bloody sick and tired of all the focus on air. Mogul skiing is about turns... air is a distant second in my mind. Not that I don't enjoy watching the awesome airs, but it seems like air has become the primary focus, even though it's technically only 25% of the score.

Awesome!

WTF is with the weather out there? Nothing like skiing spring bumps in the rain.

I definitely agree with this

Don't agree with this, especially on the men's side. It's seems like every men's competition I see lately has the competitors doing a layout back or iron back off the top and back with a full on the bottom. Same thing every run, every competitor. very boring.

That's why I like Roark's airs so much. The 720 up top and Bronco at the bottom was AWESOME. Maybe there's a degree of difficult chart and Hannah's are considered more difficult, I don't know.

Even the commentators were saying how Hannah was keeping her airs conservative in order to execute the run perfectly. She clearly did execute to near perfection. That said, I'd like to see someone do that AND go big off the airs. Kindly like the Mosely dinner roll run years back.

Was up til 1:15 with a hard core vodka buzz watching it on the Tivo. Was very exciting to watch and the coverage of the women's mogul event was awesome. Re-watched it with my girls this morning. My 7 year was pumped. Before Hannah's run she even said, "I'm so nervous!" Anyone catch Jen Heil after the obligatory hug? She looked pissed!

I agree that the event has to be about turns. And it seemed to be based on the judging. Hannah's monster floating 3 was pretty impressive though. She landed perfectly in the line.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. The 720/Bronco was pretty nuts. The backflips and off axis spins are cool, but I'm still a sucker for a monster triple twister. That has the same appeal for me as the big floating 3's which according to Moseley last night is actually tough to pull off cleanly. Hannah nailed it though.

Rooting for Deneen tonight!

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of the uniforms. Oh well.

deadheadskier - I hear ya on the jumps. I guess I'm just a sucker for good turns. If you can throw good air with good turns, then you're great. But I'd rather great turns and decent airs than the other way around. I actually think Moseley's '02 run was a perfect example. Revolutionary air, but definitely not his best turns.

Men's qualification round tonight at 5:30ET. Finals at 8:30ET. As I said, I'll be taking my lunch break at 8:30 tonight!
