As some here know, I have worked in Haiti for many years, leading voluntary self funded medical relief teams, building clinics, and training the doctors and staff to to work in those clinics.

Many ski resorts, (SR, The Loaf, Loon) are donating $1 of every lift ticket sold this holiday weekend to the Red Cross efforts in Haiti. Along with having cash donation boxes available in the lodges, stores, ticket windows, and at the registers

Here are a couple other sites that are on the ground w/ teams of doctors, nurses, PA's and technicians. The volunteers are coming in everyday - But they still need your support for Water, Diesel (for generators), and obviously for medications and surgical supplies which will run out soon.

Both are registered 403 Non Profit's, and your donation is 100% Tax Deductible. These are NOT scams, they are both US NonProfits that have been in operation in Haiti for over 20 years each. (I would never put my name in a public forum if were not for an honest, and worthy cause).

Interesting.... Thanks for posting that ! We've worked w/ Wycliff Jean's group in the past, and they have been very supportive of our efforts.

I replaced that link w/ Paul Farmers Partner's In Health, the world's #1 HealthCare NonProfit working in Haiti w/ over 20 years experience there.

CASH donations are generally NOT recommended. No way to trace it, No Way to prevent a dishonest employee from pocketing it.

Check's and Credit Card are the preferrred method of choice as they leave a paper trail.

Due to the recent devastation in the nation, she’s traveling this Thursday on an urgent trip to help with the Haiti relief efforts and has asked her family and friends to use their networking powers to help in any way they can.

To paraphrase her email below:

They’re in desperate need of medical supplies (antibiotics, normal saline, IV tubing, pain medications, bandage/suture materials, casting materials). Hospitals are overflowing and supplies are incredibly low. If anyone knows of an orthopedic doctor/group/hospital willing to donate some supplies or a pharmaceutical rep or company willing to donate, please know networking helps and can bring miracles, in the last few days I have truly seen it.
If you have already contributed financially to this tragedy, thank you, mesi anpil! For those of you who have not, please consider donating to Haiti Marycare so that they can continue to buy antibiotics and supplies vitally needed to support the overflowing hospitals in Haiti and save the lives that are left.

Our group of surgeons / RN's landed yesterday, and is now working at L'Hopital Sacre Coeer (Sacred Heart Hospital) in Milot 90 miles North of PAP, It is one of the last fully functional hospitals left in Haiti. It was featured on both the NBC/CBS evening news and CNN over the weekend. The US military is currently bringing in critical Pts from PAP by Helo. We have a team of 6 deployed for 7-10 days and are currently setting up relief rotations right now...

www.crudem.org is the site for the hospital. It's a reg. 403c NonProfit, so everything is 100% tax deductible.

ETA: Also, those who did the text message to donate $10 to the Red Cross: it was stated on the news that no administrative fees would be taken from those funds. The full donations will go to their efforts in Haiti. However, it looks like there is a delay in getting the funds dispersed as carriers need you to pay your bill first...

Thanx Bob !!! We were featured on NBC Nightly News over the weekend, as one of the last fully operational hospitals left in Haiti. US Military is bringing in critical patients from PAP by helicopter. Unfortunately at this point they're sacrificing limbs in order to save lives.

Meds., and supplies are running low. but the team is doing everything they can.
