Hi
Im new to XC/Back country skiing and I want to upgrade my equipment for this season. Last yr I skied off track (XC style) all winter and I shall do so this year but my basic classic XC skis were useless for half the season due to icy conditions. I thought if they had an edge I would be able to XC ski/tour all season. I do not intend to go onto tracks much but I would like to have that option of occasional use. Is a full metal edge good or bad? Are the 3/4 edges any good? I want good glide, I ski logging roads and snow mobile trails with very mixed conditions.

What do you recommend for light BC use in multi conditions? I realy have no clue what to get.

Kind regards

Since it seems as if you are more into the touring then an alpine endeavor you should be thinking - light weight. Defiantly full metal edges. Check out manufacturers like Karhu, Tua and Dynafit. They make a full range of gear. Backcountry.com would be worth worth perusing

P.S. This site is mainly populated with downhill alpine types.
