From the past couple of seasons, I'm all with seconding

Saddleback

Snow King

I'll also throw out Grand Targhee.

From Recent years, Ski Santa Fe is a big favorite of mine. Still haven't hit Ski Pajarita (looks manefique!)

I suppose I should mention Dartmouth. It's off the radar.

I honestly do want to commit to bumping. I just plan on giving it a try during the middle or end of the season. I have other techniques to improve on before I start to hit the bumps. I'm getting more and more pumped for this season!

I'm trying no to hijack this thread too much, but definitely check out the thread on mogul skiing. It's kinda long, but it's worth the read, there's lots of good info. Also pick up the book referenced in it. There's lots of drills in there to work on in flat terrain to get you ready for the bumps.

The hijacking is over. I have some reading to do. Thanks for the recommendations.

Brian's recommendation is good. If you want to eventually want to get into skiing bumps, develop your groomed trail skiing to get you to that point, i.e. learn to be able to turn quickly and make subtle adjustments with your skis.

Here in the East - Anywhere on a non-holiday weekday

Weekend - Ragged Mt (If it has snowed)

Out West - Mt. Rose (as others have stated, especially with the newly opened Chutes)

At least here (excluding HPD and Willy) Whiteface is a hidden gem. You guys need to make it over to the other side of Champlain at least once this season.

Whiteface rocks! It's just way too far for me, other than a special occation (and that's from a guy who'll day trip Saddleback, at a 470 mile round trip!)

I completely agree. My current plan for this year is to hit Whiteface at Christmas time with the family. I know it will be expensive but I already have the time off so I might as well use it for a good ski trip. Lake Placid should provide lots of diversions if my kids get bored with skiing (is that possible? Heresy??).

I'd love to ski with other AZ members then. Already planning on hooking up with HPD for a couple of runs.

Belleayre and the Deer Run side. A true hidden gem. Several times I've arrived on what was a crowded day to find that side of the mountain empty and full of fresh snow. Wait...actually it is terrible and full of rocks. Don't ski there.
