Heading up to K-Mart on 3/19 for a couple midweek days, and Highridge Condo's seem to be the best deal so far, actually its their motel room. I want to do it cheap, as this is not our main ski trip, but at the same time, the Mrs. is coming and she enjoys things like a hot tub after skiing, so i cant go to bargain shopping. Anyone been there or have experience with Highridge? Also, what do you think the chances are that Devils Fiddle will be open in march. Every time I've been to K-Mart recently (like last 10-14 years, granted I only make it there once or twice a year) it is never open, and it always looks like it would be a blast!!

The motel units in the condos are a well kept secret and great deal.
They have blown snow on the fiddle the last couple years, looking at their extremlely aggressive snowmaking this season, the new focus on bear mountain and the current temps I would say its a safe bet the fiddle will see snowmaking. Although you may be too late in the season, depends entirely on weather if it will be open at that time.

For what it's worth, DF was open the entire last week of March 2006. Both Outer Limits and DF had plenty of coverage (albeit mashed potatoes) and only a few bare spots on skiier's right near the rock band. The moguls were so huge that my 7 year old disappeared from view as he wended his way down the fall line.
As for this year? Check your crystal ball.

They were open last year at that time...
All depends on the weather...if it keeps up like this, I'd say you'll be in luck.
