What are people seeing out there. I know this weekend was a wash out. I know that my home mountain, Ragged, is not a barometer for how crowded many places are. That said, I've read reports that Hunter and Bellyare were both dead this past week.

Biggest money week of the year for most resorts. Hope to hear some places doing well.

Went to camelback in Pa today. They had nearly everytrail open, and it was packed. They made up for the washout saturday. Yes, it was icy there but considering the conditions of the weather the last few days the mountain was in good shape. I never waited so long on the lift lines there today, but it got better as the day went on.

I was up at Waterville today. Crowds were like a normal weekend, just below what a busy weekend would be like but definitely no where close to were they usually are week.

Mount Snow was pretty quite Christmas Eve day. I rarely use the Summit lift but was skiing pretty much right onto it all but one run that day.

Same thing Saturday + Sunday there. There were however lots of Northbound cars on I-91 last night about 6PM with Thule boxes or loaded ski racks on them

Saturday last weekend was a fantastic day at Cannon before the rain but I was fairly surprised at how light the crowds were. Tram was not even half full the only time I rode it, all lifts were ski on, and more empty chairs than not on the Cannonball. That is surprising the weekend after a major storm hit the metro areas. Perhaps folks were still doing the Christmas thing at home. This coming weekend should be packed at most places I would think. Thinking..... Burke for the storm this weekend. :D Will chime in on what I see at Cannon tomorrow.

xmas-eve at wachusett was pretty busy, some waits at lifts. xmas day (only open 4-10p) was thinned out, no waits for lifts at all. both days conditions were great, especially xmas day.

today was extremely busy, very long waits... and it didn't help that minute man lift went down early morning for a bit. conditions were wet snow, some isolated slushy spots.

I have no 'scientific' data to back up this claim, but Christmas falling on a Friday in general isn't good. 26th becomes the travel day and you've basically lost half a weekend if not more in business.

Either way, from the sounds of it many places aren't all that busy and might not have that great a holiday week. Hope it dumps on New Years day and the weekend slams for all that have business dependent on our sport.

Was going to ski Shawnee Peak last night but couldn't even get into the parking lot. I gave up and came home. Monday nights are always a zoo but I have never seen it that busy!

x2 on the Northbound traffic Sunday night. We left around 7PM...I've never seen that much traffic heading up.

belleayre was kinda dead 24th
25th was better than last yr but still kinda dead.
26th no crowd
27th no crowd
28th was better but not as busy as a regular mid season weekend
Took today off...would imagine the lodge being crowded and sloped empty due to temps.

I think the forecast kept a lot of people away last weekend. Forecast for Saturday was for mixed precip with the chance of sleet and freezing rain. Sunday was predicted to be wet, and it was. I think a lot of folks that would've started up Saturday decided against going. I also agree that Christmas on Friday may not be optimal. Lots of folks who might drive up Friday don't because of obligations on Christmas day. Weather this weekend might keep folks away as well. I need to work Thursday and we were planning a low key New Years Eve (one of my very least favorite holidays) and then we'd drive up Friday morning. That might be a non-starter if this storm develops like projected.

Crowd beta from Cannon today is non-friggin-existent. Half tram car loads all morning (which is saying something because it was too friggin cold to ride the Cannonball). I am not sure if this is normal for this week or not but I was dumb founded how few people were there today (on a powdery day no less!). Less than a typical twofer and significantly less than a powder day twofer.

For sure, Monday was jaming. It was like a draw bridge lowered when snow was in the air and all the tourest in LP came pouring over to WF. There bad cause Sunday was great with few people.

With all the upper mountain lifts on windhold today, continued around the clock snowmaking. tomorrow there should be a ton of snow waiting up high.
