Spikes Junkyard Dogs in Providence are pretty good. Always liked the German Shepherd, kraut and spicy brown mustard. Good rolls too.

Also, along with ramen noodles, we survived on Ball Game Treats in college, see attached. 1/3 the price of other hot dogs. Left us money for beer.

My kids think nowdays that I'm the greatest chef in the world if I make them Mac and Cheese with hotdogs, or even better the hotdog rolled up inside of a crescent roll with a piece of American Cheese :)

Dazzle them with breakfast pizza one morning. Spread the crescent roll dough out on a cookie sheet and bake. then top with scrambled eggs and omelette toppings, cover with cheese and broil until the cheese melts.

Here in Northern NJ there are a couple of popular variations on hot dog prep. One is the Patterson-style "all-the-way" Texas weiner. It's a grilled dog with chili sauce on it. The chili sauce is made with very finely ground beef. It's then topped with finely chopped onion. Another is the "Ripper" as popularized by the infamous Rutt's Hutt near Giant's Stadium (and the ever-uglier Zanadu indoor slide thing). These are BIG hot dogs that are deep fried. One or two of those and it's like a greasy bomb explodes in my gut.
