How many vacation days a year do you take to ski?

Right now I get 4 vacation days and 4 vacation nights per year. This past season, I took 2 days and 2 nights to go to JHMR for a week, other than that, no vacation or DCL/sick days to ski (I skied about 40, only 2 weekend days).

Last season, I didn't take any vacation or DCL days and I skied 50 days.

Last season I took 6 vacation days to go out West and 1 pre-arranged midweek "sick" day.

This coming season.....we have had to scrub the trip out west already! It even sets up well -- a buddy has a house in Telluride for a month and has sent out the call -- but we have a multi-month around-the-world trip planned for next summer, and taking a ski week 6 weeks before that just doesn't make sense in terms of money or vacation time.

So perhaps this measures the limit of my fanaticism! I really want to take a week this winter, but this other trip is a once-in-a-lifetime thing.

I'm basically a weekend warrior, but I'll have some sick pow days this year.

Wow, I had no idea so many other people used their vacation days for skiing. People at work always look at me like I'm cracked (or on crack) when they ask what I planned for vacation over the summer and I respond: "Nothing, at all, I save my vacation for the winter".

Last year I used at least 15 vacation days skiing, a week in NH in january, where it rained like hell, week in CO at the end of Feb , and a week in Utah in May to end the season.

I'll be spending a bit more vacation time in the NE this winter, but still planning another trip out west.
