Denial is a river in Egypt..next season will be even more expensive for me because all my gear is pretty much trashed..plus I want to go on some sort of exotic cat-skiing/heli-skiing trip..time to start socking away money for 08-09

Already bought my passes for next year. Paying for ski season is a 12 month program. My disposable income all year goes to ski season, not to mention all but one or two vacation days.

Actually, most of my skiing was free this season since I stuck close to home. I paid for 1 half day pass at Mohawk, and 1 pass at Mt. Snow. Though I guess once you add on the Abasin trip next month, it'll add up a bit.

Gear, on the other hand. Ouch. $1000 just last month between boots, custom footbeds, and skis w/bindings. Plus $230 earlier in the season for the Maries (adding in the cost of mounting the bindings). Have no idea what the total was for gas and accessories (goggles, gloves, glove liners, helmet, socks, ski pants, softshell jacket, Sportube, Transpack....).

Now that I think about it, I probably shouldn't have divulged how much I did buy this season.

Having just gotten back into the sport last year on older equipment I pretty much updated a lot this year. New boots, 2 pairs of skis(Mythic Riders and AC30), poles, ski pants, gloves, helmet and then with lift tickets and hotels I am somewhere around 3k.

Since I got all the big ticket items behind me this year, hopefully next I wil be able to use the money to ski instead of buying equipment. I also need to stay off the Steep and Cheap site since I am a sucker for a good deal:razz:

If I can't manage to keep track of how many days I got out there's pretty much no chance that I have any idea how much I spent... ;) I don't think it was really that high though. I only had a couple of trips up north..

Quickly calculating from memory, I think in the vicinity of $3000 including lift tickets, equipment (new skis), clothes, transportation, and lodging. Doesn't include food purchases while away.

Should food on a ski trip count??? If I wasn't on a ski trip..I'd still be spending money on food/drink although probably not as much.

Up to just over $1600 counting lift ticket costs and gas. Will probably top out around $1800 before all is said and done. If I reach that point, then my pre-season hypothesis about gas prices equaling my ticket costs will be proved correct.
