With the questionable conditions, I was just wondering how often people need to go out to feed the jones...

I'm not a die-hard by any means but if I don't get out once every other week during the season I can get into withdrawal mode.

I'd say on average I get about 4-5 days a week. Even if I'm tired I usually go up for a couple hours just because it feels good to be outside.

Huge difference between how much I want to go skiing, how much I need to go skiing, and how much I am able to go skiing.

Want: 8 days a week
Need: 0 days a week
Able: every other week or so

Usually average 3 days a week.

Would love to some day when I retire be able to ski say 183 days in a row and then play golf for the next 182 days in a row and have one GREAT year! :)

I get out three or four times a week, depending. I've taken a couple three-day weekends, I have my ski race league on Tuesday's, I've swung over to WaWa once or twice, etc.

Skiing is not a "hobby". It's an obsession.

I need to get out once a week during the season. If I miss a weekend I'm usually jonesing pretty hard by the time the next weekend rolls around. I'll take time off during the week but only if there's fresh snow or conditions are good enough to make it worth while. Luckily my boss lets me abuse the flex-time rules a little to get in a few extra days off during the season. It's nice working for a hardcore skier.

If I could, I'd ride at least a couple hours everyday. Actually, I was about to quit my job and move out west when my boss offered me a promotion and a chunky raise to stay. Given the current state of the job market, I think it was smart to put off the move for a little while.

My answer is not in the poll. I ski every other week for 3-4 days from Dec. till close. On rare occasions I'll ski 5. If I went every week I'd be in divorce court.

I don't have a local hill I could hit up so I have to go away for a few days.

In the past i skiied conditions that I didn't always enjoy but it was fun, but now that i'm older and don't have money to waste i wait for snow to fall and or good snowmaking weather then i go, so ya I had only two day's this season so far but they were both great days.

Lol, apparently I can only make it 2 days since I ski both Saturday and Sunday but also pick up Wednesday nights to get me through the mid-week stretch. During a better snow year I'd be bagging work for "board meetings" and hitting every mid-week powder day and even an occasional mid-week groomer day. This season my work attendance has been sadly stellar.

My first 3 years out here I skied almost every day, averaging well over 100+ days.

Fact is, probably half of those days were pretty bad in the grand scheme of things, but they were still fun.

Now that I have my real world Accounting gig, I still manage to get out 3-4 days a week (I take a couple hours on Friday on the hill and either go for a dawn patrol or night skiing one other day during the work week). Sat and Sun are full bell to bell days regardless.

It works for me. To be honest, I find I enjoy it more actually skiing a bit less (I still get close to 80 days a year now). My body has time to recover and I can make better use of my time, opposed to my 100+ day a year seasons when I would ride for 30 days straight and hardly be able to walk my body was so beat up.

Dust on crust is still dust on crust, maybe Im getting older, or maybe its because I live and work at a ski hill, but Ill pass these days on marginal conditions.

I said once a week, but will skip a week if the conditions are going to be really bad or if its really crowded. I've skipped a lot of days this year...:sadwalk:

I only "need" to go skiing when the conditions are right. Fortunately for me (excepting this season), conditions are right more often than not. I can go weeks without skiing without caring if the conditions suck. Generally, I try to get out at least once a week, twice if the snow is really good. But I don't "need" to ski every week.

I like to get out as much as possible. Some years I work a bit in the winter, some not. Either way I'm out there every day regardless of conditions, I try to ski most of the day also, sometimes I get lazy in the am though. I've taken I think four days off since New Years. If my body is telling me to take a break then I do.
