Conditions: Powder
Weather: Cloudy in the morning, Sunny in the afternoon
Heard reports of 8-12 inches last night, so had no choice but to head up today. The fact that we could buy tickets for a future date at $19.58 was additional incentive. When I got there, report said they got 8 inches over night, would've liked the 12, but what the hey, 8 isn't too shabby. My wife still needs to build up her confidence, so we stuck to mostly Blue trails throughout the day. We did Belt Parkway, which was nice throughout the day. After that we head over to Wayout, one of my favorite cruisers and it didn't dissapoint. Nice fresh bumped up pow all the way down, but was a bit much for wifey. Did Belt a couple more times and it never dissapointed. Couple runs down Eisenhower (nice pow off to the side) and Kennedy and my wife's legs started giving out. She went to the lodge and I took one more ride up on my own.
First I hit Clairs Way, huge whales and bumps, you could tell they've been blowing snow like crazy on it, great run. Then it was a run down Minya Konka and that was my day. By the time I hit Minya, arond one, there was a bit of ice coming through, but it was still nice. Here's some pics of Claires:
