Hunter Mountain
1" - 3" of powder over the glacier
Report
We got a great early start from LI and reached Hunter by 0830. We hit the lifts just before 0900. Temps were in the low to high 20's. Skies were partly cloudy at first but then the clouds thickend and it snowed vigorously for about two hours. There were no lines whatsoever at the lifts. Except for K27 (bumps too icy for my taste) we skied every blue, black, and double black that was open, some two to four times. By 1100 we had gotten in a solid 10 runs. We took an early short lunch and headed out again. The west side was icy, but Claire's Way was skiable. The Cliff, and Racer's Edge were especially fun, and we hit them repeatedly. All in all, a fine day and by 1545 we called it a day after more than 20 runs. By late afternoon, they had the snow guns working in quite a few spots, and if the weather holds, you "week-end-warriors" should have some fine conditions.
