Couldn't ski on 4/10 so I headed up to Hunter for Friday/Saturday.

Friday was warm but cloudy. Even at 50 degrees I had to wear a shell. But the snow was soft and plentiful. Bumps were outstanding in all the usual places. K27 and Upper Xover tremendous. And big kudos to Hunter this season for making alot of snow on 42nd street. Even with a small break at the very bottom the bumps here were the best on the hill all season. Friday was no different.

Saturday was the best spring day of the season! After a cold night in the upper 20's we were blessed with temps around 60 and plentiful sunshine. The snow corned up real nice. Towards the end of the day at about 4:30 the corn was 6-8 inches deep in places and skiied just great. What a day.

Pond skimming went off well this year, the pond actually held water for the first time in my memory. Hunter floated a rumor that if they sold 2000 tix over the past weekend and weather cooperated that they would consider opening this coming weekend. I later heard that they sold 2500 tix on Saturday alone.

So maybe it's not really over yet. Stay tuned.

Yeah, it was tough to quit on Saturday.

Best part was my 8 year old James was with me all day and he loved it too. His favorite runs were Clair's and Purna; the bumps were just the right size for him and he had a blast.

We finally gave in and stopped just before 5pm. Had to return his season rental and we just got back to the Pro before it closed.

Hoping for one last weekend.

Is the west side usually open this late? Annapurna must be awesome with soft snow. jealous.

Prune has been open this late but thats not the norm..

Claires usually is a mess by now... with lots of bare spots to deal with..

Wayout is wall2wall snow still... :)

Heard they only sold 981 tickets on Saturday and not enough hamburgers to stay open this weekend. Sad to say it is over.

The snow everywhere on the hill has really held up well this Spring.

No, usually Purna is grass by now, and Clair's usually has several big breaks around the midpoint.

Both had snow top to bottom with no picking around needed and like dmc said Wayout has a ton of snow left on it.

Funny how everyone hears different stuff.

To be honest, I don't think they will re-open this weekend even if they had sold 10,000 tix last Saturday. It just doesn't fit the new business model.

So, is Belleayre going to step up to the plate this weekend?

Sunday was good but the weather took itas toll a little more on the front side runs...the west was great with only a somewhat big bare spot on the right..Purna was in great shape...off to the west to finish up the season now...where snow levels are truly insane...
