I was up there today and noticed that the base motor is still up. PLEASE tell me they are not reusing that! Its Jinxed! Is it just being flown over to the west side and that is what they are waiting for? That was the bane of existence of the quad!

Chair Ready for Octoberfest ?

Some of my family and I may go up to the Catskills for Columbus Day weekend, and we'd like to ride a chairlift.

What's the likelihood that Hunter will be offering rides on the new chair, as they did with the quad last fall? Will any other Catskill areas offer chairlift rides on Columbus Day weekend ...

... even if skiing hasn't begun yet? :grin:

As said - not likely... But they are running the D Lift to mid station for the summer... They fixed up the mid station deck for weddings and stuff... looks nice..

I think they are out of business. During the Snowicane, the lot was never plowed...

Bernie hasn't open the place in 2 years.. Recently saw him dragging some stuff out into his truck.. I wasn't a fan of the place to be honest...

The best place to eat in Hunter is at the Catskill Mountain Foundation, across from the movie theatre. Saturday night you can bring in your own wine - $3 corkage a table - not a bottle!

Every 3rd Friday or so they have pizza with local music. Always good and cheap. Also it is BYO.

Black Diamonds was forclosed on and was to be auctioned off last year. Never heard who if anyone bought it.

Nah, I was just curious, I've been to most other places in the Hunter area, I'm usually interested in trying out other restaurants and I've never seen it open, guess I know why.
