It makes sense. The quad is still in good shape; no good reason to throw it on the trash heap.Another little tid bit, looks like they are going to reuse the current Quad on the westside.

In good shape??? Compared to what?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from all appearances the HSQ is Hunter's youngest lift, and it is nowhere near the age when you would expect it to be replaced due to obsolescence alone. I am pretty sure that the useful life of detachable chairlift is at least 20–25 years, and that doesn't look like a quarter-century-old lift to me.
To put it differently, I would be surprised if the reason for installing the six-pack is that the HSQ can no longer be maintained. Rather, they're putting in a six-pack to increase uphill capacity (useful with the zipline going in), and the salvageable components of the HSQ will go over to the West Side in 2011.

SInce the failure at Xmas and rebuild in January, she has performed without a hitch. Even during the big dump, the quad had few issues.
The B lift is Hunter's newest lift. G2 is the most recently installed lift but I believe it was just moved and was the old racing trail lift.
Actually the Poma on the Highlands is the newest lift.
