Hunter Mountain will be opening on Wednesday, 11/21/2007. Upper mountain only, F-lift servicing and Hellgate / 7th Ave to F-Lift will be available. Quad (A) will be used for the ride up and back down to base.

These trails are open to advanced skiers only, until we open summit-to-base.

Sweet! Looks like a brief warm-up Wed/T-Day and then a nice cool down for the weekend. Sunday should be good. T2B by then, I'd imagine. Maybe Ike too?

That's a fair assumption. As guessed, we're blowing a lot on the top and waiting for the weather to cool for good. We've been watching the forecast teeter around Thanksgiving but it has remained warm, so we are just going to wait to blow to base.

Certainly a smart move. Everyone knows you can get it done once the time is right. Thinking cold for you!

Hellgate and Broadway look buried and I see you're inching your way down Kennedy:

Hoping the warm-up is brief and you can blast the hill after T-Day. How are the webcams coming along?

We ordered the webcams. They just haven't shown up yet....so for the time being, its out of our hands. We've already paid for their set-up and everything, so as soon as they show up, they'll be set up.

With Hunter not top to bottom..and most likely not for the weekend...I'm thinking of hitting Belleayre on Saturday and then going to Killington for Sunday and Monday...

What makes you say that? NWS:

NWS said:
Thanksgiving Day: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 49. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Thursday Night: Rain showers mixed with snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a low around 28. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Friday: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 36.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 39.

That's for 1,807' which is basically the base. They'll get Kennedy and maybe even Ike open by Sunday, I'd imagine. I'm there even if they're still downloading.

If the temps get that cold, we will definitely move down. Anything below 18 and dry is really good snowmaking weather. We just have to get past that rain and warmth, then we're set.

I know, riiiiiight? I have no problem riding F-lift, but I would be truly amazed if they weren't down to the base by Sunday.

I think they'll be close enough for us to ride it... :)

Drove by Hunter today about 9:15am...it was sunny and cold and they were blowing the snot out of midstation. Everything from F-lift up was buried.

Looking good...I'll be there on Wednesday with my 2 oldest boys.
