As a Citibank credit card holder, I have the opportunity to purchase tickets to Madonna before the General Public at a bargain rate of $95-$350! Don't tell me this is the going rate for concert tix nowadays?
Well I know it's $550 a seat to see Willie Nelson in Jackson Hole..but the Madonna prices seem pretty normal..Even the shows at the local fair go for like $70..
Obviously I haven't been to a concert in a long time and was shocked by the prices.

125 to 400 for John Mellencamp at the Bank of America Pavillon in Boston. Ouch.
I don't think it listed it on the website for BofA Pavillon.
The primary reason behind these prices today are the promoters and ticketbastards not the artists themselves. Certain arenas are monompolized by promoting companies and they control the price.
I'm a big moe. fan and their tickets are up around $45 these days. I asked a friend who works for the band what amount the band sees and he said roughly $25 and that's split between the band and sound/light/stage crew. Nearly 50% of the costs go to the venue, promoters and ticket agents.
To me, it's no longer worth it. I'll stick to the local scene, pay $15-20 tops to see more talent in a smaller club where the sound is actually good and I can see the musicians up close.

This is the first tour that it looks like I'll miss since the eighties. I'm having a real hard time justifying the cost. The R30 was worth it because it was their anniversary. This one is killing me because I really like the new album.

If you sell out the show, you're charging too little. Let's face it, it's a business to everybody involved.
