What a day! I was very happy with the day's outcome. We wasn't sure if this was all going to happen, with our schedules and my daughter's, but everything work out well including the beautiful sunshiney morning!

I'm still working on my form. Even though I felt like I had the correct stance, my husband says that my legs still aren't as close as they should be, they're spread farther than my shoulders. If I can get hubby to attach them I will. Not sure what I'm doing wrong with that. I even had fun in the moguls, had to work at them, but it was a blast! My right knee was feeling it most of the day, along with my right quad. I didn't want to give it up though. Oh, did I say that testing out those fatter skis were awesome and a now I want a new pair of skis!

My daughter snowboarded in the morning, but also got tired because of her night before activities. She did a charity softball game for a local girl that has luekemia, in the snow! So she was a little tired from that and changed over to skiing after lunch. We were having soo much fun that none of us wanted to give up skiing but my daughter and I were both a little sore. Couldn't have asked for a better day!

Here's some pics. The first pic is myself on the left with my daughter on the right, second pic is myself w/ hubby and the last is myself w/daughter, Meagen. :)

Great report! You two always flip me out with the same avatar. I always have to take a double take to see if it's Uphill or Skier posting. I'm hoping to get up there in a few weeks.

Sorry we'll have to work on that.....it's kinda hard since most of our pictures are together. Maybe we'll have to take each other's pics and fix this problem.

Sat morning at Mt Ellen was one of the nicest days of the whole season...you sure picked a good one.

When I am not working and I am sking I always go to Mt Ellen for all the reasons you mentioned.

I do suggest to people that they might consider just taking a ride on Slidebrook(the intermounatin lift) as the lift is truly a one of a kind experience, you don't end up at the base of LP so it's not too busy when you disembark. Just to make the ride worth even more you can get on North Lynx for a quick run down Birch then take the ride back to Mt Ellen. No crowds, no hassles. Maybe you can check it out on your next trip.

Glad you had a great day!

You simply can't beat the atmosphere combined with fantastic skiing at Mt. Ellen. Quite frankly, it's more than large enough to be its own area (with way more potential than Lincoln Peak), and I think it's simply more fun.

Saturday was one of the greatest days yet this year. Glad you were up here for it.

By the way, they never closed the other side of the mountain. That would be counter-intuitive from a business standpoint. That was just a rumor that started. What actually happened is that the Lincoln Peak parking lots were completely full, so they sent everyone over to park at Mt. Ellen and then ride Slidebrook over if they wanted to ski the other side. The ticket window at Lincoln Peak was open all day... the parking lots were just full!

Both mountains have their qualities. Another reason I think the Bush is the best all around skier's mountain in the east!

I think that was the 4th day this season we had to do that. Even if Slidebrook has to stop running due to wind or cold the shuttles do a great job getting folks back and forth.
