Thanks for the detailed report. Sounds like the work was well worth it! Hopefully your wife's problems will get resolved soon.

Well, my wife got her boots refitted and when we hit the mountain, she said this was much nicer. They fit well. It seems like a nice comfy fit. No problems for her. When we took her boots off after skiing, there was a nice even sock pattern on her feet. Just a few spots that were maybe a little red, but basically, the boots are grabbing onto her whole foot.

We also tested out the boot heaters for her. These are hotronics, and I spent for the larger batteries. She always has cold hands and feet. I never wear mittens, and on the very coldest days, I'll add glove liners. She is already wearing mittens. I never do boot heaters, she does them all the time. I gotta tell you, while these are expensive, they are very convenient, and worked very well. No fussing with the stick ons and they are not bulky.

Now onto my boots. I have a few tight spots in them. Knew that from the last trip. But this time, I brought a sharpie and a camera, so I can acurately document where they are tight so Jeff can give me a little space. Even now, these boots are so much better than the oversized ones I had last year. I am firmly attached to my skiis, and feel almost in mid season form after a couple half days skiing. I am looking for the bumps and hitting them. It makes feel like I am a teenager again.
This all sounds real encouraging...I finally got my boot purchase issues worked out and I'll be at Jeff's tomorrow night to get the initial work done. Can't wait...

Just had the right boot tweaked a bit. After an hour and half on the slopes, my pinky toe was crunched. He heated the shell up and blew it out. Left foot fit pretty much right off the bat. Not the right boot feels the same. Great service.

Jeff, you are da' man!!!
What does blowing out the boots involve? Do the boots look any different after that's done?

It seems that adjustments in the small toe area (I've seen references to "sixth toe") are not uncommon for bootfitters to do...makes me wonder why boots aren't made wider in that area of the foot to begin with.

I'm a little behind on the adjustments, but I agree with what you have said about Jeff...I initially had some concerns about the boot size but after skiing in my new boots and getting the liners to pack out I'm sooo glad I didn't go any bigger.

Essentially, it looks like a blister. No discoloration, but kinda like a blister. In my case, my toes are spread. When I wear thongs at the beach, I have to clinch the strap between my toes. What's interesting is that the left boot didn't need it.

By "Thongs" I hope you're referring to sandals!
