What would it be about? The rules are, you can play music, but only maybe 50% of the time (what kind)?

So what would be the format... general or specific subject matter? Based a lot on call in's or no? Comedic? Political (no need to specify any further, just 'political' will do)? Anything goes (as long as you don't piss off the FCC)? Target audience?

Would it be just you or centered on you with contributors (a la Stern/Imus) or several contributors on equal footing?

Who would be your other personalities? Anyone on this site?

Would you have guests? Who and how often?

I'd have a radical format- all sign language, all the time.
And the program guides would be in Braille.

Yeah, I suppose content wouldn't matter so much with this format. You could do a whole segment on the middle finger and no one would know.

It does make booking guests a lot easier. Cheaper, too, since you don't need any real talent.

If a sign language radio station went off the air, would anyone know?

No, don't be. I'm seeing some creative possibilities here. A radio show about doing a radio show perhaps? That would be good radio.

How about a radio show thats hooked into a bunch of IPods that people are skiing with..
And you can listen in to whats being played and play it on the radio station.

Jam Bands and Animal Husbandry

Guests would be Mark and associated farm animals

Kind of Springer-esque - Segments of various jilted farm animals discussing Mark's insensitivity and love em and leave em attitude. Followed by a half hour jam by Umphrey's McGee or StrangeFolk!

Not bad. I like the mix of white trash and farm animals. I think it has promise, at least for a certain rural type market.

This is not so much a hypothetical for me as when I worked at LSC, I had a weekly three hour radio show I called Electric Kingdom (a la Twilight 22) which was a broad offering of electronic music. Lots of beat matched break beats which was my specialty when I DJ'd in Boston. But I did a ton of ambient, minimal, IDM, beats, etc. Was quite an education into the routes of electronic dance music to keep coming up with new stuff for the show. Which was one of the reasons I quickly switched from beat matched breaks to ambient... it is a heck of a lot easier to run a radio show with full length 8 minute mind trips rather than switching out beat matched records every four minutes  Any ways, it was fun while it lasted. Just wish I had an audience. The only calls I got were folks requesting Freebird and Ozzy. No joke.
