My Verizon wireless phone now has a gateway from text message to email, including photos. I tested it, very cool.

I'd ask you to post it to the group here, just to make them suffer......

Can't speak for Montpelier, but that's not the MRV. I rarely have issues with AT&T coverage all along 100 in the MRV and up at Sugarbush. I lose it near MRG though.

My verizon never works in MRV. Great Idea though. I've been thinking about what service works best up there and getting a sim card. I already have a terrorist phone that I use with a European sim card when I'm visiting family in Norway.

Can you speak more on this? I bet a bunch of us use Verizon mobile phones and we like to text and send our photos via text and what not. Is this gateway you speak of something new?

The "gateway" is transparent to the user.

you just create a text message, (with or without a picture) and "send" it to a standard email address. It goes, simple as that and is received by your email client. Same way you send a text message.

And the cool thing is that the opposite is true. I can send an email or an email with attached pic to my cell phone (for verizon its phone number=123456789: 123456789@vztext.com or 123456789@vzpix.com) and my cell phone receives it.

I can't attest it works for all phones, but for mine, lg vx8600 it works.

We have to hail the telco repeater installation guy to find out the upgrade plans for MRV. they just did a beautiful upgrade at stowe.

It works for a LG 8300 as well. That is how i get my ring tones and wallpapers. Make them on my computer and send them to myself. Also how I save all the pics I take with my phone.

Verizon did not work anywhere in the MRV....Rt 100/17 Sugarbush, MRG Waitsfield....Warren....no go.

Back out on 89 = perfect...real strong in Burlington....

MRV, no good.

Beg to differ! AT&T has much superior coverage then Verizon or any of the other carriers, At Stowe any one other than AT&T is worthless. My buddie Bill doesn't even get his VM messages while I have full coverage anywhere on the mountian to the village.

You obviously have some issues that transcend telecommunications.
