When I’m walking and turning left or right, I’ll sometimes make an imaginary pole plant. I know that sounds goofy, but I bet I’m not alone. Anyone else do it or something else equally peculiar?

I guess I'm pretty peculier. I imagine skiing a tight line when I'm descending stairs...highpeaksdrifter said:When I’m walking and turning left or right, I’ll sometimes make an imaginary pole plant. jack97 said:I’m not keeping my hands out in front of me. Usually happens with my left hand, my pole release is not fast enough so the hand stays behind or to the side of my body. This gets me out of position thus my balance is shot.
It's funny because I’m a lefty but it makes sense since my right turns are stronger and cleaner. Probably, less things to process when I make a right turn. What I tend to do is after a clean sequence of moves, I try to remember what I did right and store it in memory. The problem is when I'm in the bumps its happening so fast, I'll freeze because my mind was pre occupied with the past.

He said I was leaving my hands back a little bump to bump. He told me to keep them in front where I can see them and just flick them with my wrist. It was a simple adjustment to something I didn't realize I was doing and it helped alot.
