I was wondering if anybody ever experienced an inadvertant binding release while skiing down a slope. It seems like if you were crusing at high speeds and one of your skis unexpectedly came off, you could be in for a massive wipeout.

Don't think I've ever had one on a groomer, but plenty in bumps and landings, and a couple times this year mid-air (halfway through two of my best twisters.) I could see it happening while sking fast over ruts or tracks of people who came before you carving hard. But most of my massive wipeouts aren't due to my equipment.

My skis usually only release when I'm skiing poorly. If I'm centered and carving, I don't have any premature releases.

Make that three times mid-air this year.

Toes got cranked up another notch after that run.

only when I land funny goose-stomping in the moguls..it happened to me twice this season..once in the Hobacks at Jackson Hole and once on Barneys Bumps at Blue..There have been a few times where a ski gets caught up in a rut but I have recovered which was a good thing because a ski getting catapaulted off my foot could lead to me going ass over teakettle into a snowgun, light-pole, lift tower or hopefully some mad sweet and low sugar snow with a little extra cushion for the pushing..
