I love the pow on the few occasions I can get it. Bumps are great, but I also love the feel of g-forces on high speed GS turns.

I made a wrong turn one time at heavenly and had to walk out a pretty decent distance on a bluebird day through several feet of Sierra Cement. By the end of it I was soaked in sweat and about as exhausted as I've ever been. It wasn't dire because I knew where I was and how to get out, but it did remind me what not to do on a big powder day.

I remember going to wawa after an unbelievable dump in the spring and it was simply not steep enough except for the small steep section. Powder down an intermediate run is cool and everything but the very best sensation is deep powder and steeps.. that effortless slow motion float. It's dreamy.

Yeah I no dude---just havin fun-----gettin punchy tonite having tomorrow off with all this new snow!!!!

It is and I find it refreshing that so many are saying so on this thread. I love carving big GS turns, fast and feeling the power in each turn.

True dat!!! You ever get a ski loaded up enough to catch a little air into the next turn??? It's an amazing feeling. I wish I was good enought at carving to do it on purpose, but it's still fun trying.

I'd take a deep base of spring 'hero' snow. Of course I love powder best, however, I see 'talcum' - as andyzee dubbed it aptly - so infrequently in the NE thus it assumes a luxury status...like a lobster dinner. Spring snow, for me, is like mom's Sunday chicken dinner: predictable, satisfying, and satisfying in its predictability.

I go through phases, though I always am game to mix it up. right now it is pow. a couple years ago it was wicked fast GS hardpack. Before that woods. Before that, racing.

Bumps, I can't handle so much of now that I'm AARP age. Corduroy I never cared for: always struck me as too vanilla. Cord is good for working on your technique, but I'll leave it there.

Riv... you gotta place some faith in those skis. Look downhill about 5 bumps, point 'em downill, and relax them knees. You'll learn to love pow bumps! If you fall in them, it's probably because you're being timid. Don't worry about what's underneath... ski confident, ski aggressive, have fun :D

Whatev... I'm usually too busy with boot to knee deep untracked to bother with adjusting hard charging powder mowing technique to be bothered with that stuff. Have at it, it's all yours and to each their own.

Powder is for certain my favorite condition and it extends beyond the actual surface conditions. I love how a decent amount of fresh makes everything so quiet. The snow in the trees and all around you dampen the sounds and leaves you somewhat alone in your mind chasing your soul out in front of you towards the next turn.

I do enjoy great groomed conditions as well as bumps, especially the hero bumps of spring skiing, but there is NOTHING like fresh snow. I guess the answer to the question is found in your dreams. When you dream of skiing, what do you dream about? Me? Untracked foot or deeper pow through the Birthday Bowls behind Spruce and Smuggs

I like buttery unskied corn snow just about as much as skiing powder. Bright sunshine, 60 degrees, and skiing in a long sleeve t-shirt doesn't suck.

..it's #1...

Can't get enough powdah...and being an outdoors boy @heart...any type of weather, so long as it isn't rain, is fine as long as there's some depth. Whiteouts ..outtabounds...are #1..as long as it's a descent or short ascent/skin!;-) We almost got there Sunday...but a little sleet mixed in...and of course..as yet, everything is still inbounds around here

Powder no question. I'm pissed I had to go home on Saturday night right now. Hopefully I'll still be able to find some untracked when I get back up there.

The only thing better than a foot of powder is 2 feet!

I just love the feeling of floating down the trail, in silence!
