My friend who works at Mount Snow received an email this morning that it's now official, they will open Sat morning at 8:00AM.
Employees and their dependents will not be allowed to ski Saturday due to the limited terrain.
They've been making snow around the clock and they've covered considerable area in the last couple of days.

Sweet. I haven't seen anything "official" yet but this wouldn't surprise me. I'll post more when I hear something.

Great News!

Keep us posted! Sounds like Saturdays the day! Employees blacked out, I love it! Now wouldn't you guys rather go Saturday than Monday ( which will likely be more crowded than Saturday), and save that vacation day for more terrain in a few weeks? On a non-holiday weekday....................

P.S. Mt. Snow opening before K, never thought I would see the day..............................

The snow report says that they plan on having 7 trails and 5 lifts open this weekend... :)

Ouch!

You are all scum. It looks like it's more honey do list things for me on sat. Although have fun with the crowds.

Nothing personal TS, just excited. Hope to meet you out there one of these days......................although as the saying goes, "no friends on a powder day", (or opening day)................................
I'll be out there early to beat any crowds. And if it does get crowded on the trails, makes it more fun and interesting dodging all the obstacles, since the terrain open might get a little boring after a while.........

Since there will be only one or two top to bottom runs open it probably will get boring fast. My wife doesn't even want to go this weekend due to the limited terrain but I'm trying to convince her. We have season passes too so there is no cost except gas. I can't wait to ski!

Anyone know the lift ticket pricing for this weekend?

It'll likely be part of the press release. Not sure if they plan on issuing one today or not.

Our goal is to open this weekend, but it is NOT official that we are opening on Saturday at this point in time. We may have an update as early as this afternoon, but management has yet to give the green light.

Luke's snow report on mountsnow.com reflects the plan we're going for. Temperatures over the next 24-48 hours will determine how much terrain we're able to get open and where. We were able to start making snow all the way down Standard and onto the base area last night. I've put some photos of our snowmaking efforts over the past couple of days at www.mountsnow.com/snowblog.html.

I guess it's not "official" by the marketing Dept yet , I'll be more careful using the word "official" in my future postings.

But this was also just posted on MountSnowzone.com by Vinny Vincenzo "Just spoke to the Season's Pass Office. They'll be open on Saturday at 07:30 and the lifts start running at 08:00."

Looks like people that work there think it's going to happen.
