WATERVILLE VALLEY, New Hampshire — Waterville Valley is serving up some springtime jammin' this Saturday, April 2. Following the Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam competition in the Exhibition Terrain Park, six bands will be mixing it up and jammin' in the base area for Waterville Valley's Spring Fling Mountain Jam.

Waterville Valley's Volcom PB and Rail Jam, on Saturday, April 2, is the season's final park event. The Peanut Butter and Rail Jam is Volcom's amateur snowboard series. The goal of the series is to provide a fresh format for all kids to enjoy. Instead of having three rails in a row, they will be placed side-by-side to create a rail zone. This concept brings all the contestants closer together - riding, hiking and watching in a big group. The judging also differs, as this is a real jam - meaning there are no rules. Boarders can hit the rails as many times as they want and in whatever order they choose. The judges only care about the tricks that riders do pull off and not the ones they
don't.

Registration is free and opens at 7:30 a.m. There will be two divisions: 16 and younger and 17 and older. The event will be limited to the first 90 registrants and a strong turnout is anticipated. The competition will begin at 11 a.m. with fantastic prizes from Volcom on the line. Everyone who enters walks away with something, even if it's just a sense of satisfaction and a good peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

The jammin' at Waterville Valley continues off the slopes on April 2, when six bands on three stages play for the Spring Fling Mountain Jam. Reggae makes the apres scene and then the doors open at 6:30 p.m. for three simultaneous concerts. For the rock audience, the Main Base Lodge will host the bands The Grift and Averi. For those in search of some low down blues tunes, T-Bars presents the Scott Good Band and Lydia Warren. Finally, in the Upper Base Lodge, reggae acts The Well and Vibewise will groove the crowd. Tickets are only $12 in advance and $15 at the door.

With spring skiing and riding at its best, what better way to enjoy the season than by extending a visit to Waterville Valley. Midweek Ski and Stay packages at Waterville Valley begin at $39 per person. This "Spring it On" package includes one night's lodging in a two bedroom condo at Town Square and a full-day lift ticket. The $39 rate is per person, per night, based on quad occupancy and includes tax and resort fee. A similar double-occupancy package is $49 per person and offers guests one night's lodging in a one bedroom condo with lift tickets. These packages are valid for lodging Sunday through Thursday nights and skiing Monday through Friday. Admission to the White Mountain Athletic
Club is also included.
