Trip Report:

The plan was to ski Thursday and Friday with my buddy D.(we'll call him CTpowderhound or CTPH) But with Jays forcast that they were going to get 6-8 on monday, we changed plans and moved things up a day by staying at the Jay Village Inn Tuesday night and skiing Wednesday too.
Well as we Jay faithfulls know the website can often be filled with empty promises(sorry S.W.). We arrived Tuesday night to no new snow from Monday but we were hopefull as CTPH and I both know the mountain well enought to find the hard to get to and overlooked spots.
But skiing on Wednesday almost never happened! During the overnight I couldnt sleep. Then I started getting an uncomfortable feeling in my abdomen. Soon it wasn't long before hell was unleashed from my body. I'll spare you all from the details but I will say I broke a blood vessle in my eyeball.Cool! This all cam from a Filet-o-Fish sandwich I got in Littleton. I remember the punk who passed it to me had a big $h!t eating grin on his face as he passed it to me. I was around the Vermont line when I was four bites in and pulled the 10" long hair out of my mouth. :puke:
Anyhow, back to Jay. After the Filet-o-Fish ordeal I finally got some rest and felt pretty good in the morning. It was a sunny day but a bit chilly. Nothing too bad by Jay's standard. We lucked out, just as we came outside from getting tix, the tram was loading and we got the last 2 out of 4 spots left on it. We opted for a warm up run in Beaver Pond. The snow was pretty tracked out and freash lines were almost non existent.

Our next run we did a bit of traversing and got into a section of Everglade that had some fresh lines but the new snow was over a spongy crust that could grab your skis and end up tearing you in half like a wishbone. But it was fresh snow and damit thats what we came here to ski.

We headed just past the rope in Andres and found some fresh but it was lots of work to get and in short stretches.

CTPH and I spotted a car in the lower Dip parking lot so we decided it was time to hit that part of the mountain. Timbuctu was pretty tracked up but the snow was nice.

The Orchard had some fresh left in it too but it got tough to ski down low. Lots of fresh lines below the Corona Highway if you spot a car or dont mind walking but again, the new snow(from sunday) was heavy and over a crust.

Wednesday night we had an awsome dinner at the Belfry and over a couple beers at the Snowshoe we decided to bail on Tursday and Friday as we really wanted to ski some powder and it wasnt going to happen. We still had a great time and made lemonade out of lemons.

Looks like conditions were alright... The little snow refreshed things off...

Glad you enjoyed!

Now, will it ever snow again?
