I have an interview for a boarding school that I am applying to on Friday the 26th in Massachusetts. It's about a 3 hour drive, and I am trying to convince my mom to let me stay over for at least one night and make it into a trip. I'm from the Catskills, so any mountains around there I am unfamiliar with. I believe the closest is Jiminy Peak. Is it worth the hotel room cost to stay over and ride Jiminy?

Give it a shot. It's a nice hill - quality snowmaking and grooming. Won't be crowded on a Friday and you'll rack up a ton of vert off the six.

I love Jiminy... and the fact that it's only a 45 minute drive from my house (as apposed to a 3+ hour drive to get to anywhere in NH or VT) makes it even sweeter. I'm there almost every weekend, I definately think it's worth the visit! If you lodge a bit away from the actual resort, say 10-15 minute drive or so, there are alot of small inns and motels you can stay in in some of the surrounding towns that are very reasonably priced.
