Well we're heading up St. Pats weekend with a group. (Get out of the city on Amature's Night Out) We're on a budget this time and we're looking for something nice, yet not overpriced on the access road. Hopefully around $150 a night. Any suggestions?

Wife, two kids and I stayed at the North Star Lodge in December. The one room suite is REALLY nice and it was around $150 a night. Regular rooms were cheaper. They had a great ski/stay package so if you call ask about that. Lift tickets were like $40 with the package. They are on the access road and have a fantastic outdoor heated pool. Nice after a day on the slopes...

Wow, Marc, looks great! Where on the access road? A walk to a bar and restaurant, in case I want to have a cocktail?

The wife and I stayed at the Happy Bear Motel last fall. One of the older ski lodges but maintained pretty well. We paid about $70/night but in the winter looks like it might be $110. Good location on the access rd and walking distance to several restaurants and nightspots. We prefer the older lodges so it might not be your cup of tea. The owners run it and they are nice and a good local resource.

Try the rustic looking Mountain Sports Inn. It is not new, has rooms for families, and provides a "cooked to order" full breakfast. It has space for kids to hang out in, and also a hot tub. My buddy and I pay $82/inc tax & breakfast during non-holiday midweeks. Tel # 1-888-422-3315. It is located about 1/4 - 1/2 mile up the access road on your left.

It is about 1/2 way up on the left. Near Casey's Caboose. I am almost positive either the Wobbly Barn or Pickle Barrel (not sure which one) is within walking distance. Good breakfast served as well.

Believe me there is no better place to be after skiing than in an outdoor heated pool...with cold Coronas as a bonus!

Sorry I haven't thanked you guys sooner. We're calling all Northstar, Mountainsports and Happy Bear this week to get some rates. Thanks so much for all your help!

how's the shoulder doing? guess you are good to go since you are heading up?

Much better Steve, thanks! I went to the doctor today and he told me to take it easy for a few more months. I've been out 4 times since the injury and have been taking it slow. I see your getting out now too! Ripping those moguls apart yet?

Hey BeanoNYC, if you are going to be in K this coming weekend why not stop by the 10 AM K-zone meeting and meet some K-zoners. If you don't want to do that, then you can stop by the HH hour place which this weekend will probably be JAX.

Sorry but I cannot give you any suggestions on accomodations up there since I own a condo so I don't stay in any of the hotels. You might also want to try getting a rate from The Inn of the Six Mountains and Cascades.

Ty I suggested he do the very same thing. Actually I suggested he look you and Dork up. Again great hospitality for the K folk. I think he is from your area.

I was thinking about going to Killington this weekend, but if Belleayre is going for a snowmaking blitz, I might just do a day trip.

BeanoNYC, the Cascades Lodge, Mendon Mountainview Inn, or even Cortina Inn may have good deals, check on Yahoo Travel for the best rates, I have gotten some good deals that way in the past.

Cascades Lodge is asking $213.00 a night (not worth that price)

The Mendon Mountainview is $103.00 per night.

Cortina Inn is $100.80 per night.

JAX? Above the Rub a Dub Pub? Is there a way to tell who you guys are?
