Killington eyes secession from Vermont

KILLINGTON, Vt. (AP) Tired of sending $20 million a year in taxes to the state and getting $1 million in state aid in return, officials in this ski resort town are considering leaving Vermont and joining New Hampshire.

Are prop taxes here in NH any lower than VT? I seriously doubt it.

Might even be higher for some. But I think Act 60 or 68 or something is maybe causing the second home owner, business increase for them?

Its the tax on their already ridiculously over priced lift tickets that gets to me! :evil:

If this ever comes to pass (it won't), local shops may be great places to buy gear (no sales tax)...
