Seems the only real money though is in podcasts these days. If you want to call that journalism.
If that’s what people prefer, it CAN BE real journalism when done right. Just like there’re real journalism and there’re tabloids, plus everything in between.

Perhaps it’s the replacement of TV? Entertainment and journalism can co-exist.

I’m not a podcast person. But I do tend to have dinner around the time of TV evening news so I can double task. ;)

Personally I really enjoy the long form interview format that so many podcasts use, and that's for anything from ski industry interviews, to comedy to current events/politics. I often get to the end of the podcast and feel like I have had the chance to hear and potentially learn far more about the topic at hand than mainstream journalism in various forms, can often deliver with the hard time limits/word limits that tends to just try and focus in on the "bullet points" often at the expense of the full scope of the topic

I have a hard time listening to people talk, so PodCasts aren't my thing. I instantly loose interest and I zone out. Many of friends are like you've got to listen to this pod cast and I'm like no thanks can I read up on that?

I can't listen to people talking while I'm at work, I need the background noise of music to concentrate. talking would be a huge distraction to me. I also have a 3 mile commute so it would take me like 2 weeks to get through a Rogan interview...

Same. I find the hosts are just people who like to hear themselves talk. Send me the transcript to read and sure.

If I have to listen to something for 20 minutes, it better be a GD, Phish or Tool song. ;)
