KILLINGTON, Vermont — Preparations are well under way as the Killington Golf Course aims for a May 5th opening of the 18-hole, par-72 championship course.
"Crews have been working to wake the course from its winter hibernation," said Dave Pfannenstein, director of golf. "The recent warm temperatures have really provided a head-start in prepping the course for play and we're very excited to kick off the season."
Killington Resort's 18-hole course is designed to test players of all abilities. The 6,186-yard, par-72 course features mountainous terrain and challenges the most polished of players while allowing novices to enjoy their game. The golf training facility includes a 12,000-square-foot practice putting green and 15-station driving range. For golfers who play frequently, Killington Resort will offer numerous season pass products this season, including the following:
Seven-Day $775: Pass includes unlimited golf. Tee times may be booked seven-days in advance.
Midweek $595: Pass includes unlimited golf Monday through Friday and space available play on Sunday afternoons. Tee times may be booked seven days in advance for midweek play.
Space Available $495: Pass includes golf privileges seven days a week on a space-available basis. Tee times may be booked one day in advance. Deadline to purchase this pass is June 1, 2006.
Midweek Space Available $349: Pass includes golf privileges Monday through Friday on a space-available basis. Tee times may be booked one day in advance. Deadline to purchase this pass is June 1, 2006.
Walking is permitted at any time for pass holders. Cart fees are not included in season passes and are $9 per pass holder for nine holes and $13 per pass holder for 18 holes. Cart Fees include six percent Vermont State Sales Tax.
Daily 18-hole greens fees are $52 (Monday through Friday) and $57 (Saturday and Sunday). Nine-hole rates are $30 anytime weekdays and after 5PM weekends. Twilight fees start at 3PM and are $35 for 18-holes. Cart fees start at $10 for 9 holes, $17 for 18 holes and $13 for twilight. Club rentals start at $15. The Mountain Golf School at Killington is carefully structured to build each facet of one's game, from basic form to game strategy. Golfers of all levels will spend each morning in a small group receiving one-on-one attention from a pro. After a detailed swing analysis, students will develop their skills in such areas as bunker play, full swing, putting, chipping, and pitching.
