A minute from the Alta exit off the I-15!
When I had a pass and was getting 5-20 days a season at K I probably averaged 3-5 laps on Outer Limits every day. Lot's of one-and-done's but also a ton of spring days where I'd get double-digit number of laps. What a fun trail. We're going back to the days of iPods and I distinctly remember I could get down on a fully-moguled OL in about 3 minutes based on how far I got through the song. Amazing times. To be young again!

Wow Fiddle looked GOOD that day!

When the base is decent I love Julio. Full ~1200' glade with good pitch and usually great snow. And very easy to lap quickly.

That sucks. I usually wear hiking boots up/down the stairs and boot up at North Ridge, there’s usually a bench there, would that be better for your knee than ski boots ?
Well it's not like I'm crippled, my knee is OK, just gets a little sore on the down hike. For me it's mostly the fact that skiing limited terrain with the masses just isn't really worth the minor pain issues. Or the 3.5 hour drive each way. Nor is it worth it to me to bring extra equipment like hiking boots along.

I saw my ortho (David Altchek from Hospital for Special Surgery) for the first time in 22 years this spring fully expecting him to recommend a knee replacement, but he just laughed at me after examining my knee and hearing that I ski 50 days a season. He was amazed at how sound my knee is and thought my efforts to keep it strong were very effective. Basically told me to stop complaining and enjoy skiing. Then he invited colleagues to look me over and they agreed I'm good to go and to avoid replacement until it's really necessary.

Hoping the weather stays cold and it's worth it to walk both ways. In any case, soon it will be possible to ski down to the snow; just hyped up to get to skiing this season.

Applied for a position at Killington as head cashier. They insist on applying online. The application is dead in the water. No way, if I can get into their system I'm assuming others can and I doubt if they'd notify me. Like most of you I get a notice at least once a year that someone (or a bot) compromised my information and sold it to the dark web.

Sorry Charlie :)

look at that civil conversation. Skiing heals all!
I think we're looking at an all-time record in New England for ski related deaths. Why:
  1. Hot cold cycle. Wax on wax off.
  2. Bears
  3. The general state of our lit-up country.
  4. Inflation
  5. Italians
  6. people skiing backward down White Heat.
  7. Inverted jumpers.
  8. Folks being too cold to ski because of their fuel efficient cars.
  9. Too many windowmaker limbs hung up in trees.
  10. Yoga pants or other spray-painted types of suits.
  11. EDIT: The aging population of Sbowboarders who are not as likely to recover from falls do to only having one edge (and folk pushing them off chairlifts due to the horror they (not sure of word) on snow conditions).

Theres this guy on Facebook who’s always posting videos where he and his brother bomb down runs at lightning speed with terrible form (not going to dox him but if you’re on any of the Northeast skiing groups you’ve no doubt seen his videos). Yesterday he put up a video where he and his friends were flying down Rime and Reason at 45+ mph barely avoiding people. As you can imagine it caught alot of flack in all the groups it was posted. Apparently Killington has banned their passes now.

Love it...ironically I was just thinking about that video this morning thinking to myself "if I was in charge and saw that, I'd be suspending their passes". Awesome to hear that Mike did that. There's really no excuse for flying down the trail that fast especially when it is that crowded. Just downright disrespectful to everyone else skiing.

How fast do you think this guy was going (I’m assuming it a different person since they are not coming close to anyone else and there is only one of them)
Doubt this is the guy. For one thing this guy was actually in control. And nothing wrong with opening it up when there's no one else out there yet.

thats mike hayes, he's one of the best skiers in vermont. he at least used to be a marketing exec at ben and jerrys, and posts ridiculous dawn patrol runs before work in the stowe backcountry. not sure if he still works for b and j. but hes an incredible skier. also not going THAT fast. hes not straightlining, he's checking. and its emptyish.

aside - i eat too much ice cream, and i used to eat a lot of ben and jerrys. i recently switched to haagen daaz. look at the ingredients on each. haagen daaz is all natural stuff you can pronounce. ben and jerrys is not.

edit - it looks like he works for krispy kreme now. dude is part of big sugar.

edit2 - can someone post the videos of the killington kids?
