Yes, next year will be the litmus test.

Superstar up until this year was a mix of Low-E (several vendors) and High-E. This goes for fixed and portable gear. Going forward it's all Low-E fixed and they likely will use all Low-E portable on Preston's Pitch. Skye Lark was also a mixed bag. I am not sure what they did there this off-season. I would have moved the Snow Logics from SS to replace the SR7s.

If we are to assume all Low-E on the WC venue of 150 guns (100 for SS, 50 for Skye Lark) @ 100 CFM each that's obviously 15,000 CFM. For reference a K3000 or SR7 consumes 300-400 CFM each.

They own around 33,000 CFM of air in house, even without having rentals. That leaves a substantial amount of air left for the North Ridge > Snowdown route. I am not going to get into water because unless it's an ideal wet bulb, they will still be on the air side of the curve.

Long story short, I think next year you will see a similar Day 1 effort as this year on top of the World Cup build, albeit with a chance of a less aggressive push to the bottom if air becomes a constraint.

Right where I want to be
Sounds like North Ridge is having problems this morning. Stopped for a while and now the report is that they're evac'ing and not letting anyone go back down Rime right now. Webcam shows people still coming up the chair but no one going down.

That lift is way too new to have the issues that it does.
Hopefully they figure it out quickly enough to get the washed back skiing and before the rest of us unwashed start showing up tomorrow.

Other than not having much of an urge to drive 3 hours to ski 600 vert, this is another reason I haven't been up for stairs season in over 10 years. Last time I went I sat in the lodge for 2 hours because they didn't get the Gondy running till after 11. Not much else you can do.

Also nature looks like it might be a buzzkill this Sunday. NWS says mainly freezing rain from this system...if that's the case then I'll just wait another week until Vail finally decides to open their mountains.

The first 2 weeks of November were warm last year, with Albany setting records the first week. Here at Bromley the first snowmaking was November 12th, and even then it was only at the top - maybe 200-300’ of vertical. They didn’t make snow at the base until Thanksgiving week.

And last year Killington did make snow with temps above freezing, obviously very dry. And desperate.

Same with the bubble, way too many problems. That's why they went with Dopp for superstar.

Sucks for us old people. I am checking the daily sites for what we would determine good, logical source of real time live beta, and my two main sites are not active. I guess I need to check the apps for the live feed. I am hoping to go Friday and if I do I will reply to all the old folk here who appreciate the info we get on this great site.
